Eligibility

BGET Project

Clients must live in the districts of West Somerset, Mid Devon or North Devon.

The project has been designed to support groups living on low-incomes experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, poverty, financial hardship, and social and financial exclusion. Specifically but not exclusively;

  • single adults,
  • families,
  • older-people,
  • experiencing mental health problems.

The project provides assistance with the following:

  • Debt and money advice
  • Income maximisation and welfare benefits advice
  • Fuel poverty
  • Financial capability and budgeting
  • Mental Health Support and Advocacy (only if one of the above financial inclusion services are also required)

Transitions Project

Clients must live in the districts of Torridge or West Devon and be unable to access other services (e.g. unable t travel to local outreach provision).

The project has been designed to support groups living on low-incomes experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, poverty, financial hardship, and social and financial exclusion. Specifically but not exclusively;

  • single adults,
  • families,
  • older-people,
  • experiencing mental health problems.

The project provides assistance with the following:

  • Debt and money advice
  • Income maximisation and welfare benefits advice
  • Fuel poverty
  • Financial Capability and Budgeting

Local Welfare Assistance

You must live in the district of Mid Devon and;

  • are on a low income
  • are referred by Mid Devon District Council
  • don’t have savings of more than £500
  • don’t have access to any other forms of assistance

An assessment will be made on the urgency and need of the situation; we also consider if there might be any other assistance that you may be eligible
